Dear Slip Holders,
It is with mixed emotions that I write this letter. After thirteen years of dedication to Regent Point Boatyard, Yard Manager Paul Andersen has announced his retirement. He will be pursuing the life of a live aboard sailor. His plans include a trip down the coast to visit his brother in Florida and then on to parts unknown. The Bahamas and the rest of the Caribbean are definitely on his radar and his itinerary is open and flexible.
I am both happy for him to be in a position to follow his dreams yet sad to lose such a valuable and respectable member of our team. Paul’s last day with us is Wednesday, September 30th so be sure to say your goodbyes before he embarks on his new journey. He plans to be available to us by phone for advice and counsel should we need to draw upon his vast store of knowledge and insights.
Moving forward, James will be assuming Paul’s role as Boatyard Manager and will be your contact for any work orders/projects. James is certified as an ABYC Master Technician and has been working alongside Paul since Paul’s first day with us. He will also continue as General Manager. The rest of the boatyard staff remain dedicated to providing top quality service and repairs.
Lauren will continue handling slip management and brokerage operations in the Marina Office. l will also be around getting in their way and making sure I keep frustration levels as high as possible. Joking aside, I will be around less often than I have in the past as I try to enjoy retirement a bit more each year. Please feel free to contact me should you have any questions or concerns.
Thank you again for your continued support. We look forward to sharing many more boating memories. In the meantime, please join me in wishing Paul all the best that’s yet to come.
Sincerely,
Jim Wagner
